Keep Calm and Eat a Cupcake

Today it’s all about feeling less stressed. The holidays are almost here and that can put a lot of pressure on people. So to reduce the worry in your life, here are five easy ways to feel less stressed today.

  1. Avoid caffeine. If you are already stressed, caffeine is the last thing you want. Drinking coffee, tea or eating chocolate revs you up and is responsible for the adrenaline-filled fight or flight response. Instead drink water, which will make you feel better.
  2. Kiss somebody! Or give them a raspberry instead! Yes that’s right, blowing a raspberry relaxes your facial muscles. We store a surprising amount of tension in our cheeks and jaws, so if you are feeling stressed a kiss, (or raspberry) might be all you need to relax.
  3. Go for a walk. Even a five minute walk in nature will get you breathing deeply and help relax your mind. If possible walk somewhere with grass and trees for a change of scenery and some much deserved fresh air!
  4. Read your favourite blog! Take five minutes out of your busy day to scroll through a fun design blog with pretty posts. For me, I love reading decor8 and MadeByGirl for some aesthetically-pleasing visuals and amazing inspiration.
  5. Laugh your head off! They say “laughter is the best medicine” and they’re right! Watch your favourite sitcom, or listen to your funniest friend to release endorphins, which is nature’s way of making us happy. Even 10 minutes of watching is enough to transform your day.
